Bashar Markabawi, MD, FACC

Dr. Markabawi is a co-founder of Lifetime Heart & Vascular. He graduated from the University of Damascus Syria, a part of the faculty of medicine, and went on to complete 3 years of residency training at the University Hospitals of Damascus. After coming to the United States and passing all USMLE exams, he completed a three-year Internal Medicine residency at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH. He then went on to complete a three-year Cardiology fellowship and an additional 1 year of Interventional Cardiology training at the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Markabawi treats patients with a wide range of acute and chronic heart disease using evidenced based medicine. He enjoys involvement in life-saving procedures such as angioplasty and stenting for occluded coronary arteries, as well as cutting edge clinical research. He holds many board certifications, including Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Medicine and most recently the American College of Lifestyle which is incorporated in his practice.

“In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three sons. I enjoy hiking, reading, and consider myself an amateur astronomer. When I’m away from the work place you will find me creating new Vegan recipes and spending time with my Shiba Inu’s at the dog park.”
